Temp Channels

Let members create their own temporary voice channels that delete themselves the moment everyone leaves.

Temp Channels let members spin up their own voice channels on demand. You set up a creator channel — when a member joins it, Rimpllee instantly makes them a personal voice channel, moves them in, and gives them control of it. As soon as the channel is empty again, it's deleted automatically. No clutter, no staff cleanup.

You configure it in the dashboard under Other → Temp Channels.

Set up a creator channel

  1. 1

    Open Temp Channels

In the dashboard sidebar, go to Other → Temp Channels and click Add creator channel.

  2. 2

    Pick a voice channel

Choose an existing voice channel to act as the creator channel. Joining this channel is what triggers a new temp channel.

  3. 3

    Choose a category

Pick the category new temp channels are created under, or leave it on Same as creator channel to keep them next to it.

  4. 4

    Set a name template

Decide how new channels are named using {user} as a placeholder — for example {user}'s channel or 🎮 {user}.

  5. 5

    Set the defaults

Optionally set a default user limit and whether new channels start locked. Members can change both later from the interface.

When a member joins the creator channel, Rimpllee gives them Manage Channel permissions on their temp channel — so they're fully in control of it from the start, even before they touch the interface.

The control interface

Post a control interface — a button panel members use to manage the temp channel they're currently sitting in. On the Temp Channels page, pick a text channel and press Post interface. The buttons only affect the channel the clicker is in, and only its owner (or a server admin) can use them.

What the buttons do
Name / Limit
Rename the channel or set a user limit.
Privacy / Chat
Lock the channel so only trusted members can join, or mute its text chat.
Region
Change the channel's voice region.
Trust / Untrust
Let a member always join (even when locked), or remove that access.
Invite / Kick
Create a 24-hour invite, or disconnect a member.
Block / Unblock
Stop a member from joining, or lift the block.
Claim / Transfer
Claim the channel if the owner left, or hand ownership to someone else.
Delete
Delete the channel right away.

Claiming a channel

If the owner leaves, anyone still inside can press Claim to take over — so a channel never gets stuck without an owner.

Free vs Premium

  • Free: 1 creator channel.
  • Premium: up to 5 creator channels.
  • Members can always spin up as many temp channels as they like — the limit is on how many creator channels you set up, not on the temp channels themselves.

Need more creator channels?

Premium raises your creator channels from 1 to 5. See Premium plans.
