Voice support channels
Let a ticket move to voice in one click. A temporary voice channel is created next to the ticket and cleans itself up. Configured per category.
Some questions are faster to answer out loud. Voice support channels add a Voice channel button under a ticket's opening message: one click and Rimpllee creates a temporary voice channel right next to the ticket, open to the person who opened it and your support roles. Nobody has to find a free channel or hand out permissions.
Voice support channels are a Premium feature. See Plans.
Turning it on
- 1
Open a category
Edit a panel, open the button/category you want and scroll to Ticket behaviour.
- 2
Enable the voice channel
Flip on Voice support channel. The settings for this category appear underneath.
- 3
Decide who may start one
Pick the roles allowed to press the button, or leave it empty so anyone in the ticket can. Then set the user limit and the name suffix.
Settings
- Roles allowed to start a voice channel
- Who may press the button. Leave it empty and anyone who can see the ticket may start one — useful when you want the person who opened the ticket to be able to ask for voice themselves. Server admins can always press it.
- User limit
- How many people fit in the channel at once, from no limit up to 99. A support call is usually two or three people, so a small limit keeps passers-by out.
- Name suffix
- What goes behind the ticket name. With the default
voice, ticketticket-0042getsticket-0042-voice, so the pair is obvious in the channel list.
Who can join
- The person who opened the ticket.
- Every support role of that category — the same roles that can see the ticket itself.
- Whoever pressed the button, even if they were added to the ticket by hand with
/add. - Nobody else: the channel is hidden from
@everyone, exactly like the ticket.
How it cleans up
You never have to delete the channel yourself. Rimpllee removes it in each of these cases, and posts a short note in the ticket when the ticket is still open:
- Everyone left
- The moment the last person leaves the channel, it's deleted.
- Nobody joined
- If nobody has joined 120 seconds after it was created, it's deleted again. A misclick doesn't leave an empty channel behind.
- The ticket was closed
- Closing the ticket removes the voice channel with it, even if people are still sitting in it.
A ticket can have one voice channel at a time. Press the button while one is already open and Rimpllee points you at the existing channel instead of making a second one.
Where the channel appears
The voice channel is created in the same Discord category as the ticket, so the two always sit together — including when the ticket landed in an overflow category or was moved with /move.
A Discord category holds at most 50 channels. When the ticket's category is full, Rimpllee says a voice channel can't be created right now instead of scattering it somewhere else. Free up a channel and press the button again.
Turn it on for the categories where talking helps — onboarding, technical debugging, a heated report — and leave it off for categories that are really just a form.
