Auto-close on inactivity
Automatically close tickets that go quiet, with a reminder ping before they close. Configured per category.
Auto-close on inactivity closes a ticket automatically when nobody has sent a message for a while. Before it closes, Rimpllee pings the person who opened the ticket with a reminder, so they get a chance to reply and keep it open.
Auto-close on inactivity is a Premium feature. See Plans.
Turning it on
- 1
Open a category
Edit a panel, open the button/category you want and scroll to Ticket behaviour.
- 2
Enable auto-close
Flip on Auto-close inactive tickets.
- 3
Choose the timings
Set Close after (how long with no new messages before it closes) and Reminder before closing (when the opener is pinged first).
Settings
- Close after
- How long a ticket may stay silent before it auto-closes: 12 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days or 7 days.
- Reminder before closing
- How long before the close time the opener is pinged: 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours before — or pick No reminder to close without warning.
What counts as activity
- Only messages from people reset the timer — bot messages (including the reminder itself) don't count.
- As soon as someone replies, the timer resets and any pending reminder is cleared.
- A ticket nobody has spoken in is measured from when it was opened.
The timer is checked about once a minute, so a ticket closes shortly after its limit is reached rather than to the exact second. When it closes, a transcript is saved and sent just like a manual close, with the reason "Inactivity".
Set it per category — a billing category might close after 7 days, while a quick-question category closes after 24 hours.
