Join messages

Greet every new member with a personal embed and optionally hand them roles automatically the moment they join.

A join message is the first thing someone sees when they arrive in your server. Rimpllee can post a custom embed welcoming them by name, and — if you want — give them one or more roles automatically. Everything is configured under Welcomer → Join in the dashboard.

Want to say goodbye too? Set up a matching Leave message so departures get a send-off as well.

Set up a join message

  1. 1

    Open Welcomer → Join

In the dashboard sidebar, go to Welcomer → Join and turn on the join message.

  2. 2

    Pick the channel

Choose the channel the welcome embed posts in, such as #welcome or #general. Every new member's greeting lands there.

  3. 3

    Build the embed

Write the title and description, set a color, and add any images or fields you like. See the embed builder below.

  4. 4

    Add auto-roles (optional)

Pick the roles new members should receive automatically. Leave this empty if you don't want to assign anything.

  5. 5

    Save

Press save and welcome a friend — or rejoin yourself — to see it in action.

The embed builder

The embed is fully customizable. Titles and descriptions support placeholders, so you can drop in the member's name, the server name and more — see Placeholders for the full list.

What you can customize
Author + icon
A small line of text at the top of the embed with an optional icon next to it.
Title
The bold heading of the embed. Supports placeholders.
Description
The main body text. Supports placeholders and inline formatting.
Color
The accent stripe down the left edge of the embed.
Image
A large image shown below the description.
Thumbnail
A small image in the top-right corner, often the member's avatar.
Fields
Up to 3 named fields for extra details, such as rules links or where to get started.
Footer
A small line of text at the very bottom of the embed.

Make it personal

Placeholders turn a generic notice into a real welcome. Try greeting {user_mention} and showing how big the community is with {member_count} — for example “Welcome {user_mention}, you're member #{member_count}!”

Auto-roles

Auto-roles are roles that Rimpllee assigns to every member as soon as they join — handy for a default member role, a starter role, or region pings you'll let people change later. Pick as many as you need in the Auto-roles section.

Keep the Rimpllee role high enough

Discord won't let any bot assign a role that sits above its own. In Server Settings → Roles, drag the Rimpllee role above every role it should hand out, or auto-roles will silently fail. More on this in Invite Rimpllee.
